Out of it

Man, I’ve been out of it. I didn’t take pictures at lunch yesterday (good excuse: I was with colleagues), I fell asleep on the couch last night so I didn’t do a dinner post, and I FORGOT to take pictures of breakfast today. What the cuss?

Annoyed. Very annoyed. Not with the above, but with a work email I got from a pushy woman. Ugh.

Breakfast: I made juice for Lucas and me. Mine had 4 oranges, 2 carrots, and a bit of ginger. It was fabulous! I also made steel cut oats with agave and a 1/2 cup of carrot & orange pulp mixed in for fiber. Even though these suckers were completely squeezed dry, the orange pulp still has some flavor. It’s a bit bitter.

Yesterday Recap:

I squeezed in an easy workout between work and an evening meeting. 50 minutes walking on the treadmill. I started out running, but I was still full from lunch, so I had to walk. I think I a little over 3 miles.

Lunch: A margherita pizza from Mandola’s. I had a whole one. Again. And it was soooo worth it.
Dinner: Lucas made a vegetable souffle. I had a serving, plus brown rice, plus tomato slices drizzle in olive oil.
Dessert: Oh man. I had like, a half cup of chocolate chips. At least!

Crashing & burning

9:13 pm:
Crashing and burning. Zombie mode commencing…now.

Lucas is still watching Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince. BOring…I left after 30 minutes or so. Good choice, as I then taught myself to subscribe to and download podcasts to my Ipod! Por fin! (Finally!)

Pre-dinner: 6 dried Cali figs and a glass of red wine
Dinner: Big salad and Happy Rice
Dessert: Chocolate

Gym workout.
Warm up: walk to gym
15 minutes sretching/abs
15 minutes arms
25 minutes legs
5 minutes stretching
Cool down: walk back to work

My new Shape magazine came in the mail today. Katherine McPhee is on the cover—what the hell is she thinking with that terrible blonde bob?!?!? Blech.

Awfully critical tonight, aren’t I?

Texas Fight!

Ok. Time to ‘fess up. I’m a very bad Texas-ex. Being a UT alum means being a loyal Longhorn and bleeding orange for life. I love my alma mater.  But do I still watch the football games? No. I probably couldn’t name any player besides the quarterback. (Colt McCoy! Right?) Hmphf, probably couldn’t? Most definitely couldn’t.

In fact, I never understood football. At all. Why do they kick the football and then stand around and watch where it falls? What is a 4th down? Why is it called football? Enlighten me. Please.

But that doesn’t mean I’m not psyched about tomorrow’s game! Mostly I’m excited about the eating and the drinking that goes along with the game, but if they win, that’s cool, too…..I kid, I kid.

Afternoon snacks: That’s a plural there. SnackS.  An apple, a tangerine, last of the leftover onions/potatoes/sweet potatoes, and a dried date. Random. I don’t know. I had a weird case of munchies.
Dinner:  A big green salad with cabbage, carrots and sunflower seeds.  Followed by rice and beans. But not your mama’s rice and beans. This stuff has flavor.
-Lentils with garlic, parsely, vinegar, and a bit of olive oil.
-Garbanzo beans with tomatoes, green onions, olive oil and a bit of balsamic vinegar.
-Happy rice (basmati rice with olive oil and garlic).
Dessert: Oh, it’s gonna happen. I have it narrowed down to chocolates (again) or some yogurt with honey. I’m thinking the chocolates, like the Longhorns, are going to win.

Day off.
